In my opinion, I've been bullied for quite a long time, so I am sort of a natural with these situations[not the best thing but whatever]...
If he's threatening you, you need to tell a teacher, as well as that he beat up a friend of yours so proper action can be taken, however if you do not think that is the best situation for you, you can always fight back. Although do it discretely with something that you can bring to school, rather than a weapon...I'm kinda tall and strong, so I can normally smack someone back if I need to.
Hopefully that will help although the fighting back is a last resort, and as someone else said POLICE or as pew would say: POLICEBIL.

Easy I do it all the time: Take the phone while he is not looking put in the micro SD Card with the tune in it and set it. Oh and remember his no. so you can prank him. Ah the memories of humiliating all the bullies at my school

UPDATE :
He got sent to a foster home, and the parents were told that they cant see him cause of the behavior in court ( Yes, this shit went to court, mainly cause of his parents being total shits and saying they dont care).
I kind of feel bad for him cause of his parents being total dicks, but he still deserved it, he tried to stab me for fucks sake.
The police gave me a small baton ( YES A BATON!) to carry to school if this happens again.
Everything turned out fine :3 -
