    • All US Cars By 2015 Will Have "Black Boxes". (Invasion Of Privacy?)

      Hey bros,

I couldn't find a news section for the bros to post threads so this is the closest thread I could find that fits the subject. So, apparently by 2015 all US vehicles will have "Black Boxes". What are these exactly? Well, their boxes similar to those on airplanes/aircrafts. What these boxes do is they transmit and record data that could assist the drivers and passengers in an event of an accident. Which the government can use in a court order. Why is this a big deal to me. Well, if you think about it. This device can or maybe be an invasion of privacy. Since this device is similar to those on airplanes, this box maybe could record voices. I will put the article and links below about the subject.

Beginning in 2015, all new cars in the United States will likely need to be fitted with data-recording “black boxes” very similar to the devices currently used in aircraft. The U.S. Senate has already passed a bill that will make the devices a requirement, and the House is expected to approve the bill as well. Section 31406 of Senate Bill 1813 states that mandatory event data recorders must in installed in all cars starting in 2015, and it outlines civil penalties that will be levied against violators, Infowars.com reports. While the primary function of the black box devices would be to record and transmit data that could be used to assist a driver and passengers in the event of an accident, the bill has legislation built in that would give the government access to the data with a court order, and it also gives authorities the ability to access the data as part of an investigation. According to the report, these caveats could potentially lead to Big Brother-like scenarios where citizens are monitored or even actively tracked without their knowledge or consent.

So, what do you US and other country bros think about this? Is it a good add or is it just an invasion of privacy?

So they could track us at all times? That's a giving me a sense of unease..
I guess it could help find criminals, though.
I don't know, I'm kind of mixed about this. :o

they already do , say hello to your little friend.... the smart phone.
They track people at all times through the smart phone? Well damn. Good thing I don't have one. :s

Is our government just getting paranoid? I mean, they are building a giant base in Utah so they can watch everything we say on the internet, to crack codes, and so on and so forth. Now they're going to track us through our phones and cars? Geez.
