YouTube Upload Takes SOOOOOOOOOOOO F*CKING LONG

Howdy,

I need help uploading videos to YouTube. I have a 13:50min long Amnesia Let's Play and want to upload it. It is in .wmv format.

When I start uploading, it jumps directly to 17% uploaded, and says that there are 15min left. After an hour, it still said 15min left and still had 17% uploaded.

Please help me! ;(

Clear everything in your brower like cookies, history etc etc. This will help it.

What's your connection speed?

Run a speed test (go to google and type "internet speed test") and post the results here.

You can also change your DNS server and that could help solve the problem.

My downloads were just like yours where they would take forever(I was uploading 30 min videos of course)

and then I changed my DNS server and the speed changed dramatically.

make it an mp4 file, and like the levathian said, check your internet speed, or more preferable, your upload speed i have shitty internet, videos of 10+ mins. take 6 hours lol

Deleting my cookies didn't help.

I checked my upload speed, and it is 0.61 Mbps
(My Download speed is way faster (6.61 Mbps))
Is that slow?

I'll have to Render my video again in MP4. (I also always render in 720p)

And how do I switch my DNS Server?

Try to go to Video Manager and delete your video from list (it will show it like procesing one) . Then just start uploading from start . Maybe your youtube just trying to continue with uploading and something is wrong

I think i had same problem like this before and this helped me .

What's the file size of the videos when you've rendered them?

When did it start? Mine got slower too and I almost got the same UL speed as yours.

I think you already uploaded and processed the video, am I right? And you tried to upload it again?

Jumping to 17% does not happen unless you were all ready previously uploading this video and stopped mid way?

What size is your file?

what I can tell you it is all about the format of your video, use .mov

the internet connection speed

and the size of your video, make it as smaller as you can but with high quality

your down speed is slower then mine, lol that doesn't happen alot. your up speed is faster though, mine is 0.3 Mbps

Well.. it's easier uploading it on your mobile devices like smartphones or whatsoever. I do it alot. Put the video on your phone then upload it on youtube but make it sure it's private. Then after the upload is finish just edit somethings of the video that is now on youtube and then make it public. It's easier that way but longer.

Depends on the size of the file and your internet speed, really. What's the size?

Also, use mp4 when converting/rendering.

Well I don't use MP4 format because when for example I have a 5 minutes MP4 video and upload it on youtube, when the uploading is finish and watch your video the video is now double length! Instead of 5 minutes it's 10 minutes! So that's why I'm using MKV format now.

for phones the best one to use is .m4v and for computer is .mov
