Most likely not. It's the state between awake and asleep. The brain can't tell if what you sees in the dream is real. Which makes you hallucinate it.

Its not scary, once you do this its just a dream only you know your dreaming and can do what ever you want.
But if you start thinking scary thoughts and you get really scared you will probably be freaked out of it and turn it into a nightmare. -

Wait a second. If you are dreaming than what if you have a dream that isn't scary? Will I be hallucinating attractive women all around me?
EDIT: I started doing a bunch of research on this and lucid dreaming and it seems that these scary things should only happen if you panic. Stay calm and relax and you, with some practice it seems, enter a lucid dream that you can control. It is actually pretty interesting stuff.
