Rejoice, fans of TWH, Corpse Party, Ib, and more; a new RPG horror game has been released
Mad Father is a freeware game made by Miscreant's Room. Translations yet again from the great vgboy!

Since the game is free, here's the link. The translator has also provided screenshots and two guides if you get stuck. Have fun! I have to say, I really love these RPG horrors, especially when the main character is a girl. I don't know why, it just makes the game more fun, seeing how most games star a guy character.

There's also a fandom sprouting on Tumblr, even without any of the well-known YouTubers playing it.

I just finished the game and saw all three endings plus the secret second-playthrough notes.
...One word: Damn.

I think this game is going to become a big hit like Ib, and some people say this could be better than Ib. I have to say it's definitely up on that list in my book, but I'm still not sure which I like more.

Sorry to burst your bubble, because it seems like you've put a lot of effort in your thread, but didn't someone already post about this game? I'm pretty sure I downloaded it from the link he presented and also I wrote that it's virus-free?

Naw, it's always been like that from what I've seen of the thread. I made this thread knowing about the suggestions one, and I linked to the translator's copy of the game just to show it's legit (plus it also has some nice information). So basically this is a thread to discuss the game, post theories, and stuff. Which we wouldn't be able to do on the suggestion thread. No bubbles bursted.

It was kind of you enough to consider saving me from my own embarassment.

Anyways, I'm on Tumblr and I found a picture of all my babies in one picture C:

Viola (The Witch's House) - Aya (Mad Father) - Mary (Ib) - Madotsuki (Yume Nikki)

I think I might merge Mad Father to my 'Horror Girls' discussion thread but at the moment the game is not well known, so I'll wait it out and see how other people enjoy the game first.

You mean Aya as Reimu? I can see the resemblence, I'm surprised you didn't see Viola as Alice for a second. Or Madotsuki as Rika.

Is it similar to Corpse Party ?
I miss those "*pant* *wheeze*" and the whole tension.

I never thought that such RPG game could be putting me on under such tension.

It's a bit varying from Corpse Party, I'd say it's more on scale with the Ib and The Witch's House games. But actually, there is a scene with someone *pant*ing and *wheeze*ing. There's a kind of a spirit-y concept/cursed house/school/whatever like Corpse Party. Being a huge fan of Corpse Party myself, I do say it has some qualities you should like.
