Audacity gives you more control over levels and editing of your voice and such. So if you say something bone headed you can easily edit it out.

Fraps does a weird thing to make your voice sound like you are in the game though, instead of commentating on the outside of it. Hard for me to explain haha.

Yeah, definitely better to record the game sound with fraps and your voice with audacity. Audacity is just such a versatile program that nothing can even to compare to it

Mixed audiochannels are better in my opinion. But thats because i have a flawless microphone.
Syncing becomes an issue if you use audacity, but if you really have horrible micstatic, thats the only way out i am afraid.
Or buying a new microphone if you can afford.

Fraps likes to ruin a lot of things... Stick with Audacity for recording your voice.

@SwingPoynt: LOL, audacity records your voice much clearer and more of a radio-type that's why it sounds like that. But when you record with fraps. The voice blends with the game environment. Whatever!

I hate syncing.:/

When you have synced audiochannels, you let fraps record the audio.
Make sure to test the audio levels before recording twice before starting.
And yes, syncing is a bitch if your not using cam.

Also you can change the volume of the game/your voice seperate. I had a lot of problems when I recorded the Voice with Fraps.

I just know this one:

Hotkeys for Audacity

But you can't access them from ingame.
Best way is to start audacity and record. Then start the game, record the video and after that - Sync the Sound of your voice with the Video and you'll have a good source.

Can't you just set the same hotkey for each? Isn't it easier?

I don't think that audacity will accept hotkeys from InGame, because it doesn't support global hotkeys. But maybe theres a plugin for that.
It's not that hard to sync the sound. Just count down from 3, then start the video-recording.

When you're done you can sync easily by finding the countdown and put it to the beginning of the video.

No problem, take care about doing the countdown. It helps really well.
