Hello all! I'm giving custom thumbnail making a shot, and If you guys don't mind i would love some feed back

I made a thumbnail for my grey series, I'm not sure which thumb to use, if having my face in color is too much, especially with what i was wearing. Or if having that extra color helps it.

I have full res versions for the video (whenever they unlock thumbnails for me ) . The thumbs were made in GIMP 2.8.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :). If you like it, what you think would make it look better, etc.






I think what bothers me the most about the thumbs is how I didnt take a picture that had my left shoulder showing O_o

I was leaning towards that one too. I feel like the extra color from me clashes with the grey everywhere else

Yeah the arm thing is bothering me too, that's how the picture was. I might try to take another pic, or maybe just copy and flip the other arm.

I did a bit of touching up to try and deal with the uneven picture and have 3 different outcomes. What you guys think? I tried just straight up bluring the right side, taking off a little bit on the left and blurring, and then also tried taking a bit off the left and bottom.

I did something similar before doing the whole chop and blur. You did make it look much nicer than I did though haha.

Hey guys . Since I've had custom thumbs unlocked, I've been spending a bit of time trying to make new thumbs for my videos

Maybe you guys could let me know whatcha think of them? I have them at 1280x720 ( i made smaller ones for here), but the are obviously MUCH smaller for someone browsing youtube :P. I say this due to my face not being quite a sharp as the rest of the thumb. Crappy camera

Let me know what you think? And how I can perhaps do things better? I feel as like i have a bit to learn in the area of lighting, If you guys have any tips on how to make that better please let me know :o. I suppose a big part of it is just me playing around with the options that are in GIMP 2.8 until I become more familiar with what I can do.
