Ahh a subject I am somewhat of an expert in =) I have five tattoos... each one with a meaning so I'm glad you are getting a meaningful one. They make the experience that much worth it.

When I went to get my first tattoo... I didn't know what to expect, either. I was more worried about the person doing the work than I was about the actual pain. It's best you go to someone who will be willing to work with you to give you what you want, and someone who will be careful during the process. For four of my tattoos, I went to the same guy because he did such a great job on the tattoo itself and the care of me as well. When I first went in and showed him what I wanted as my first tattoo, he eagerly took the challenge. I originally gave the idea to a younger guy (around my age) but he was having trouble trying to figure out how to do the design, so my guy took it and helped me with it. He had to draw it out on me instead of doing a transfer sheet because my tattoo wrapped around my whole wrist (pictured below). When he did the actual tattoo, I was surprised by how much it DIDN'T hurt. Then again, I have a high tolerance of pain. The healing process is actually more of a pain than getting the actual tattoo itself. The vibration of the needle kind of makes you loose some feeling during the process. It feels like my wrist went to sleep, you know? I was told the wrist is the most painful, but it really wasn't.



When I went in for my second one, that one was probably the most painful ... but still bearable. I didn't cry with any of my tattoos... but to each their own. He was basically dragging a needle across my spine the whole time (it's on the back of my neck), as the tattoo I got was a Hanson symbol (shut up, I have my reasons =P) and it was a solid color in. I don't have the picture of that one on this computer, otherwise I'd post the picture.

With my third one, I wanted to go with a colorful one, and I've heard that color was painful, but it really wasn't. I got the humming bird on my chest. The next one, the fourth, is obviously a special and emotional one for me. I decided to do this one on my right shoulder - and I will be doing a replica on my left shoulder for my mom, only this time I'll add a butterfly (she has a butterfly tattoo on her chest). It was a little painful, but nothing compared to the neck.

My last one has multiple meanings that I refuse to tell anyone because the main reason someone will get if they read what I did This one was done on my right wrist, only a little higher towards my forarm. I went a little different with it... it glows in the dark ( under black light). =D I had some healing issues with it because I had a reaction to the ink. I didn't go to my original guy for this (his place was going to cost me a bundle and this guy was more experienced and less money) but this guy was just as caring as him. He walked me through the healing process when I had a reaction, and it turned out well. But because there is a little bit of scarring, the white is a little too dark.. I'm going to do a touch-up job and get that done with the guy I went to for the previous four (the guy who did this one moved to a different state, so I can no longer go to him).




I was with my best friend when she got a side tattoo done... and I highly recommend you do not get a side tattoo done until you've had one or two first. She tolerates pain... but that is a very sensitive area and she had to take breaks in between. I'm going to still get one done when the time comes because as you've stated, the final project is worth the pain.

I hope this helps you somewhat. Don't be afraid to get one but when you do, make sure you care for it as instructed, and you get one that you'll enjoy the rest of your life =)

Sure, glad I could help! The wrist is a wonderful place for one - I'm so glad I got my first one there. It was the least painful, so don't think it's as painful as everyone says. I know some people who have gotten a tattoo behind their ear, in their ear... I've seen pictures of people getting a tattoo on the inside of their lip... if an artist can do that, they should be able to do yours with no problem.

I have a friend who didn't get meaningful tattoos and she winds up regretting them.

Thanks. I originally wasn't going to get it... but my friend and I were talking about it with the artist, and he said he had some and asked me if I wanted to try it. It was a last minute idea, but I thought it went well with the concept of the tattoo and it's hidden meaning. The best part is - when I get it touched up with regular ink, it will still glow in the dark.

I have two small tattoos. Treble clef behind ear (damn that hurt xD) and paw on my leg. Clef because I love music, and paw because I love animals



I'm not that dirty as you might think from first picture xD It's just the ink, picture was taken right after tattooing.

Um, i dont have any tattoos, but my sister got one on her lower back and she said it wasn't that painful at all

I followed my friend to the studio the day he was about to get tattooed.
It was a 2hour sitting and didnt look too painful.
But the faces he made during the session was priceless thou.
After he said that it hurt quite a bit, after the first hour it got less painful.

I absolutely love tattoos I have five. Also, I seriously despise needles as well, but it really wasn't all that bad.

It shouldn't be too bad on your wrist, worst spot i'd say is the top of your foot >> though it does vary for each person.

My first one was on my lower back. I had been talking about getting one as soon as I turned 18, and a friend of mine and his brother said that they knew someone that could do it. Next thing I knew we were on our way to his shop checking out tattoos. It was about a 2-3 hour session, wasn't as painful as I had thought it was going to be. I even went straight to work afterwards >>

I don't have tattoos but my friends say it doesn't hurt. Getting them removed is a different story

I want to get a camel tattooed on my big toe so at parties I can go up to people and be all like: "HEY!! WANNA SEE MY CAMELTOE!?" :')
I'm dead serious too which is the bad thing

I also want one on my left arm (big enough to cover a few scars I have) in the form of my home team's crest

If id ever get a tattoo, itd be something silly.
Reminders that you wan to stick with you should be in your heart, not your skin.

I have a three. I got an unusual pattern inbetween my shoulder blades first and then got Mauri symbols that look like wings on the shoulder blades themselves. I then got a Mauri tattoo of a turtle on my right arm. Probably won't get anymore but my left arm does feel bare.

I will never get any tattoo's as I will be sorry for it later.

It's not allowed and largely frowned upon from where I live.

I don't like tattoos either.

Placement, top of my back

Meaning: The placement of the piece is important because is on my back. When Miko does her spellcards, she haves the leafs behind her back. Because a tattoo is something permanent, the remains of my life is a permanent spellcard.
Finding the best solution to to solve any problems and obstacles to reach success.
Same as a spellcard, you have to analyze and find the best way.
Another thing is, I have the same birthday as Toyosatomimi no Miko
7th February, getting the tattoo that say would be the ideal.
