Can someone please explain this?

It depends on the girl, I think. I take out trash, I build furniture, I clean, I do laundry... I tend to do whatever around the house while my brother sits locked up in his room, doing nothing but causing a huge mess in there - and gets away with it. In our house it's more like the women do most of the chores while the men don't. Except when my dad was alive. He did build the furniture.

Those are the stuff you'll later on learn.
Most likely because depends of the type of the girl you are with, as pointed before... And most likely the type of actitude you both have.
