Hi guys - I desperately need your help & any advice is appreciated!
So my buddy and I made some videos of us playing Halo 4 co-op campaign and uploaded them - they were NOT monetised, but we got a notice saying "Your video "Halo 4: Co-op Campaign (Part 1)" , may have content that is owned or licensed by Canal Plus. As a result, the video has been blocked on YouTube. This claim is penalizing your account status. Visit your Copyright Notice page for more details on the policy applied to your video."
The issue is that our video is no different from hundreds of other Halo 4 videos currently on youtube (e.g. here , here and here) - many of which are monetised! I can't figure out why ours is being blocked, but others aren't.
[We disputed the claim, giving the reason that "This video was created under Microsoft's "Game Content Usage Rules" using assets from Halo 4 and or Halo: Reach, © Microsoft Corporation", so the video is now viewable. But having read what people think about disputing claims around here, i'm starting to regret it...]
So what are the other Halo 4 uploaders doing that we aren't? Are they monetising their videos & then disputing the claim under fair use? Is there some trick that i'm missing to avoid such issues?
