Okay, one simple question. Can you change the URL to your YT?

Because mine is insanely long for some reason and I don't remember ever having the option to pick what I wanted my URL to be, just to point out the problem, I will link my YT channel so you can see what i'm talking about:

youtube.com/channel/UCfMH6ImYk0MHxVoBGFVsb2w <- mine

But my friend's is just simple ..

youtube.com/user/LeonSujiken <- Friend's o.o

And yes I have indeed searched around in the settings but I could be over looking something, any ideas would be appreciated, thank you.

lol mine is just like your friend's url lol xD

Its maybe due to the fact that you have switched to your normal name instead of your youtube name or something.

Your friend is using a username while you are using your google account name.

To create a username go to the settings and revert to username, then when you select a username it will make the url the username.
