There's some loophole that makes it okay if you're doing commentary over it to use the video in an "educational" format. So reviews, gameplay's... etc. But I haven't been able to monetize all my videos.. Some get accepted instantly, some ask for rights, even when provided still just stay "Under Review" even though its been a week+

There is no free program powerful enough to add the facecam that I've found. It's such an advanced feature. Gotta suck it up and pay! Or... well you know.

Just keep adding videos lol. Once it says you can monetize, you should have it. There's no clear info on how you get monetized, but I've had it for a while so I'd think its based on total views, subscribers and/or # of videos. So just keep doing your thing and you'll get it eventually

This is wrong. There is no bug with thumbnails. It is part of the new features YT is adding. Amongst others will be a Bulk Annotator. Anyway, as long as you can monetize your videos (which is like halfway to partnerhood only 1000x easier to earn) you can submit custom thumbnails. I can do it and so can many other non partners.
