Audacity and Dynamic Compression. Dynamic Compression is a way to make loud sounds less loud and low sounds more high. Kinda makes it more balance, along with Normalization. Intros less than 8-10 seconds is acceptable, but then your viewers will see that same 8-10 seconds everytime they start a video ^^. sometimes it does get annoying.

I would always go with a higher PSU, so the unit doesnt have to work near its max (which isnt good for its life span).
