I'm assuming this is the red book? The same error happened to me, it's very common. Go into the Ib folder and find the Ib Manual, it should have instructions on how to fix the problem.

It's actually very hard to give out information without spoiling the game, which is always annoying. There's no real summary of the game... but in short you play as Ib, a young girl who goes to an art gallery with her parents when shit happens. It was made with RPG maker 2000 but more than that would be giving away the plot. It's ot too complicated but I wouldn't call it easy by a long shot.

Ib (pronounced sort of like 'Eve') is a freeware horror game made like Yumi Nikki (but it's nothing like it) and also like Ao Oni. It has a few different endings, lots of puzzles and some really creepy shit going down. You can find it here or here if you need a mirror.
