They should be able to invite whoever they want, it's their day. Maybe it was a mistake, and maybe it's sad. But maybe they just don't want you to be there, and they have every right to do so.

As I said before, yes you can change from your surroundings, but only in the slightest bit. Evolution is not when you are born, then in your lifetime you change into a completely different species and have offspring. Random mutation and selective breeding eventually got us to the point of having chickens through them passing down the genetics required.
