HP Pavilions, and especially the G-Series perform perfectly fine when it gets to gaming. But I'd save up for a tower as laptops usually last max. 2-3yrs, and excessive gaming use will make the period even shorter. I had a dv7 for 14 Months, it overheated and just didn't work anymore, laptops like these aren't meant for gaming, but if you plan on only playing MC, Spore and such, it'd be fine.

Any advice? Here's the thing, I'd like to make a game, probably horror/scary-themed, am OK with coding in C#, Java, VBS/-.NET and LUA. For good headsets I'd say Razer or Creative, for good headPHONES (w/o mic) Sennheiser, and I think even a Sweex soundcard with Realtek HD Audio Drivers will do good. -Arena

Try downloading the AMD Catalyst Beta Drivers, if that doesn't help, return to the old drivers, if your screen messes up during the installation DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PC, I have the same thing, it's your computer removeing your gfx card as a virtual device and then adding it WITH the new drivers, if it takes too long be patient or contact AMD/ATI Support, and check on you process list to find out what's using your cpu, if you found the process Google will tell you the way. That is really a wood PC, Fraps does use up some RAM though so I recommend you get atleast 4GB. Your video card is however very much out of date, so to say, but I'm afraid your motherboard wont fit the newest video cards, which is a huge problem, but I guess it's fine for games like Ao Oni, and other RPGMaker(ish) games.
