    • Banned for nothing??

      My good friend on steam got a vac ban
      like he asked if the server had a diceroll mod on tf2 & there was no response, so he typed "rtd" in the chat. Nothing happened, so he said "lol nope" & around like 30 seconds later, he got banned and disconnected. apparently it said he was banned for hacking but like wtf? hacking? he didn't do no hacking D;

    • Just wondering; Have you confirmed it is a real VAC ban? A VAC ban can take up to a month to issue, and there is a lot of servers that fake these messagew for shits and giggles. I suggest that your friend tries to join a VAC-secure server. If it turns out that he really IS VAC banned, ask him if he downloaded any .dll's in the past months for any Source game...

      Also, keep in mind that VAC has nothing to do with the console except for the commands that enable/disable it on your server. I believe that this ban is just from a single server.

      Also also, Steam Support has NEVER removed a VAC ban. Although a few instances exists, there is no exception. They cannot unban your friend because of their policy. So it's all in vain to contact Steam Support except for clarity in this case.

    • LOOOOL if this story is true im gonna laugh so hard but will feel sad for you. mainly due to the fact VAC is sooooooo stupid that it sometimes bans for no reason and doesn't ban when you are hacking xD

      PROTIP : Gmod's VAC isn't VAC , its just a blacklist of banned modules (otherwise VAC should have banned like 90% of the gmod users by now X3) . so if your module is not on the list , you won't risk a ban :D (aslong you don't spread it to other people ofcourse.

      He meant TF2, not Garry's Mod. But you're right.

      It's a 100% vac ban :(

      Then your friend had probably installed hacks or something in the past, and either removed it or kept it. Keep in mind that files with the .dll extension are considered hacks by the VAC bot.

    • then write an email or a letter (which is better) to the Valve offices and state what is happened , also there might be an infraction in the past due to the fact VAC bans are always delayed for some days so it just might be coincidence that he got banned while typing rtd :3
