  • The end of Pewdie n' Friends

    smk730 - - News

    Post

I caught the forum near the end of its life. In the relatively short time that I have spent here, I have met some of my closest friends. For that, I will always be grateful. I am so thankful for having the opportunity to spend time with all of you. And of course, a huge thank you to Heiko for his endless dedication to this forum and all of its members, and for being so helpful in showing me how the heck this place works. To all the other administrators and moderators: I hope you know how much of…

Yo, Love your dedication to the server and your unabated interest, but you gotta understand that oftentimes people have lives outside of gaming. I am in the middle of applications and writing TONS of essays. As I have said before (here), I'll get to it when I can. Sounds good? Awesome!

  • Hey all, Wanted to dispel some rumors about what has been going on with the ProjectPew Minecraft server. In all honesty, It simply hasn't been a priority for myself or the rest of the team recently. I've been out of town the last few weeks, and with all of the DMCA nonsense going around, it has not made the project any easier. I'm going to do a little FAQ on the server below. If you have any questions that I don't cover, feel free to message me; I'll try my best to answer them. Q. When will the …

Heya, With the DMCA takedown request of the various Minecraft server clients, progress was a bit tricky. Now that Mojang is no longer supporting the takedown, I can move forward. Hope you'll stick around for its release! You can chat with me on TeamSpeak about the issue tonight if you want further information. Talk to you soon! -smk730

  • I'd probably live somewhere in the Andes. Would most likely build some big ass house with a great view, perched on the crest of a mountain, overlooking a valley of some sort. Bringing supplies up to my house would prove to be a BIT of a struggle, however.

I am a huge fan of sandbox/exploration games. I like to be able to do what I want, when I want. One of the best examples of a free roam game/sandbox game that I like is Skyrim. That story just doesn't get old for me. While I do like some other genres, this is easily my favorite. - smk730

Hey, Many of the users responding do not understand what twixtor is, or what it does. (For those who want to know more, click here ) As far as why you are having issues with twixtor, I am not sure, considering I have not purchased that software. I use a free alternative called slowmoVideo . This alternative has worked pretty well for me in the past, once you get a hang of its GUI. I would certainly recommend using this software instead, you just need to play with its features to understand how i…

    Post

Well, you COULD go with water cooling, but installation is dangerous, and I would recommend it only to experienced computer builders. Also, certain systems only work with certain cards, so I would not recommend it. If your card is old/cheap, oftentimes those kind of GPUs are very loud. If you want to get a quieter GPU, buy a newer/more expensive card. There may be other alternatives, but that would be the one I recommend. If the GPU is super loud, there may be a problem with the fan system on th…

Actually, you CAN put a liquid cooler on a GPU, it just voids your warranty. So don't As far as water cooling systems, if you have two 120mm fan slots next to each other, buy the corsair h100i CPU water cooler. The performance is fantastic, keeps the CPU nice and cool. Has 3 separate fan settings, so you can change noise of CPU under different circumstances. The h100i is currently 100$. If you don't want to invest that much, check out other water cooling systems from corsair. While there are oth…

Hey, I just got the blue yeti microphone and I love it. Does great with background noise, and the settings help a ton for different scenarios. The audio quality is awesome as well. I would certainly recommend it to you.

I am personally a huge fan of the Zoom H4n, due to it's multipurpose abilities. Many YouTubers use the Zoom for video recordings off-computer, because of how easily it can be attached to a DSLR's hotshoe. It also has some impressive audio processing, leaving any recording with some incredible sound. I personally have this microphone set up with a boom-like tripod, and I have absolutely no complaints regarding the audio quality, it is incredible. As far as a filter, I use a simple wind cover that …

The stuff you have listed there seems good to me. Opinions on computer peripherals vary greatly depending on who you talk to. I have always been a fan of Razer and Logitech, so I would generally recommend both of those companies if you have the money for it. As far as your microphone goes, I do think that the blue snowball is a good mic. While I personally have a different preference, many people swear by the Blue Snowball. Regarding monitor size, I always find bigger to be better in this scenar…

  • Headset

    smk730 - - Technology

    Post

To be honest, the only headset I would steer clear of would be the turtle beaches. As I have mentioned in previous posts, the cord is not exactly durable, and has the tendency to wind up and break, thus degrading the audio quality received by the user. As far as Razer headsets go, I just ordered the Carcharias, and after all the research I have done, they seem to be a pretty good option.

  • Which headphones to buy? Help?

    smk730 - - Help

    Post

Hello StealthBound, As I said in a recent post, I would reccommend something from Razer, and I would strongly advise against Turtle Beaches. While the quality is great, the cord makes me sad inside. After a period of time, the headphones degrade somewhat. The worst part of the headsets is the wire. Throughout time, the wire will coil in on itself, and the rubber sheathing starts to tear off. This ends up making the sound quality far worse. Moral of the story, don't get turtle beaches.
