There are many microphones around . Its up to you on what kind of audio quality you want . I would recommend you the Samson c01u or Snowball or blue yeti . If you want way better audio quality than normal gamers then go for a XLR Mic . XLR mic's will give you way better audio quality but you do need XLR to USB converter .

Sony Vegas is one of the best and simple video editing software . I have been using Vegas for about 4 years and its awesome. If you want to go for something way more advance then After effects is your choice, but keep in mind that you need a very good computer to render AE videos . So yea if you are doing some simple editing like cutting and syncing then Vegas is your best choice. Hope i could help you
