Yeah I think it's hard to avoid using some of the mannerisms of a Youtuber you love when you're making your own videos. I know I sometimes feel a bit like I'm doing it.

Yeah people can get a bit overly fanboyish, but had a lot of fun playing the beta anyway. What race/professions are you guys planning on playing? I can't make up my mind, but think I'll be playing an Asura Elementalist on release, the animations of the Asura dodging and stuff are too awesome.

Youtube comments tend to attract a lot of idiots, I wouldn't get hung up about it. Some people just get a kick out of being an arse to others.

I can never tell if the sales are a godsend or not. My wallet doesn't think so. I've got a massive list of games I've bought in sales which I've never played. I guess they're always there to play if I'm bored though.

Yeah he's nice to listen to and the videos seem pretty good! He actually has an aim to his videos, which is great since a lot of smaller Minecraft channels make the mistake of just doing a straight up lets play without any real aim. I think the main problem is there's such a saturation of Minecraft videos, everyone is trying to make them. I think it takes a while to both get the money from King of the web and then have it all sorted with the charity, he'll probably want to have that done before doing a video I'm guessing. I know Totalbiscuit at least only just had confirmation a few weeks ago on where his money was going for his charity and he won a little while before Pewdie, so I wouldn't worry about it.

To me it sounds most likely that he's just heard that the game has some similarities to his book and thought he could cash in. Although I've never read the book so I can't judge for myself, I can't imagine he would get as far as stopping the game being made, at most he'll probably get a bit of money out of them.
