I'm no expert but since you are new to making intro's/videos I would actually recommend you to start with Vegas and follow some tutorials on youtube and when you feel you can handle Vegas than go over to Adobe after effects. I just started using a little adobe after effects and well it's kinda hard, but it is like they say, Practice makes the master. - hope I could be to any help for you bro
