Recording a face cam is just a webcam video. The "facecam" itself on a youtube video is something you do by using a layers function within an video editing program. You just put your webcam footage on a layer that is on top of your gameplay footage so they overlap. I don't really know much about what I'm talking about with those 12gb systems... But I would imagine that regardless of how much space you have on an External drive. The system is still going to display to you the amount you have on your internal drive when you go to system settings. Just save your files to your external hard drive. Or save them to the internal, then copy them to the external before deleting them as needed. Sorry if I'm completely wrong.

Some things to keep in mind for recording. Youtube has a MAX FPS of 30FPS, so even if you record at a higher FPS, people won't be able to see it. It would be to your advantage to just play at 30FPS since the file sizes will be considerably smaller. Yeah you can select both the audio and video file, then right click>group>create new. Then it should work. You can also just scroll to the bottom of all the tracks and click there, that will split the all the tracks project at that one point

May as well get a hauppauge? Not sure I'm understanding your question correctly. As long as you have the mic plugged into your computer you are good to go. Or are you looking to use just 1 mic to talk over the console as well as record to your pc?

Oh and one more thing. I was talking to one of my friends a couple days ago. And we came to this conclusion together. "It is easier to find reasons not to like someone and say why it won't work, than it is to allow yourself to like them and look past the barriers." At least that is the conclusion my buddy and I feel is true of many situations. I'm personally still trying to figure out the right course of action from that statement.
